The Backtracker Rail Pass allows unlimited travel on the XPT and XPLORER rail services and connecting coach services operated by CountryLink to over 360 destinations around New South Wales.

The pass also provides access to the capital cities of Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra. It is valid from the first day of travel for either 14 days, 1, 3 or 6 months for consecutive travel in any direction.

Cancellations and refunds

All passes are fully refundable if not validated (ie used in part or whole) prior to travel, except for the Rail Explorer Pass which incurs a cancellation fee after booking. Any refunds must be applied for through your booking agent and are subject to any charges applied by them.
